• I have 25 years experience working as a counsellor and psychosexual therapist.
• I have been working in private practice for twelve years.

Philosophy of work

• Sexuality between a couple may be seen as an emotional, psychological and physical event.
• The model of working I use integrates sexual and relationship issues.
• Symptoms such as sexual dysfunction, loss of sexual interest, jealousy, affairs or problems with communication are addressed as aspects of the relationship and as affecting each partner.
• Shifting the onus of the problem from the symptomatic partner into the relationship challenges both partners to make changes as each can be offered an investment in the process.
• Changes may include individual treatment of a sexual dysfunction supported by the partner e.g. drugs and physical treatments.
• Help for the couple to adjust to a symptom that cannot be changed e.g. illness, loss of sexual function, infertility.
• Long term outcome may well be positively indicated if the process of change is shared and aspects of the relationship addressed.
